With deep sorrow that we inform you of the passing away of Rev. Fr. Emanuel Al-Banna last Sunday. He is the uncle of Fr. Imad Al-Banna and the brother of V. Rev. Dr. Yousif Al-Banna (London, England), V. Rev. Dr. George Al-Banna (Portland, Oregon), and V. Rev. Dr. Matti Al-Banna (Erbil, Iraq). Fr. Emanuel Al-Banna is the priest of St. Ephraim Cathedral in Amman, Jordan. Many of you have known him personally as a dedicated servant of the Church and community.
There will be a special memorial service at Sts. Peter and Paul Syriac Orthodox Church in Southfield this Saturday, September 23 at 12:00 Noon, followed by a mercy meal at the Church Hall. Donations in memory of Fr. Emanuel Al-Banna will be sent to the suffering Christians from Iraq and Syria who are currently displaced in Amman within the Parish of the late Fr. Emanuel Al-Banna.
May the Lord Jesus Christ rest his soul and keep him in heaven with the true believers. Please keep Al-Banna family in your prayers.
